Bortz Law Firm is pleased to announce that partner Mikhael Bortz has joined the Chicago Underground Film Festival as Special Events Programmer. Fresh off her recent tours of the Sundance and Slamdance film festivals, Mikhael will bring her years of film and music industry experience to CUFF as the curator of the Fest's nightly live music parties, lively panel discussions, and other networking and community building events.
A member of the local film and music industry incubator 2112, as well as The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), Mikhael explains that,
"For my entire life, I’ve been intimately involved with the art, film, and music communities, Chicago's in particular. It's an honor to join in CUFF's mission to promote films and videos that dissent radically in form, technique, or content from the mainstream, and to present adventurous works and events that challenge and transcend commercial and audience expectations."
Now in its twenty-fourth year, the Chicago Underground Film Festival, presented by IFP Chicago, is dedicated to the work of film and video makers with defiantly independent visions. Widely recognized as a worldclass event, the festival showcases the best in new American and international cinema and provides the movieloving public with access to some of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers and emerging talent from around the world.
